Indiana Jones back on my iPhone

About a month back, I'd written an entry called "Give me back my Indiana Jones ringtone" cribbing about Apple not allowing 3rd party custom ringtones on the iPhone. I'm glad that with the release of firmware version 1.1.2, Apple has removed this restriction and I have my Indiana Jones ringtone back. I hope this is permanent and Apple has realized that desperate geeks are going to eventually crack the restrictions imposed on the iPhone if only to have their favorite ringtone back :).

When Apple released firmware version 1.1.1 for the iPhone, they went out of their way to disable all ringtones not placed on the iPhone by iTunes. I do not mind paying Apple $1.99 for a ringtone that I like. But atleast let me have the ringtones that I like. If you don't have an Indiana Jones or a Star Wars Imperial March ringtone, atleast let me create my own. Or make it available thru iTunes. I just hope the iToner folks come up with a fix for firmware version 1.1.1. If you're an iPhone user and like your ringtones, support iToner !!
